My name is Haddy Wally
Hello, I'm Haddy Wally, born in George Town, The Gambia. I'm 24 years old and currently reside with my children, mother, father, sisters, and little brother. Despite being a single mother, I find strength and joy in the close bond I share with my family.
By profession, I work at Babylon School in Lamin, where I contribute to the educational community. Although my family has faced challenging times, I strive to maintain a positive outlook on life. It's the support and love from my family that fuels my resilience.
Beyond my responsibilities, I have a dream of creating my own line of handcrafted bags. The art of bag-making fascinates me, and I aspire to turn this passion into a meaningful venture.

Haddy embarks on a journey through the vibrant markets of Latrikunda, hand-selecting fabrics that embody the essence of West African style. With skillful hands and a dedicated team, she transforms these fabrics into unique bags, each a testament to tradition and craftsmanship. As the final touch, a New Life Bags label is delicately ironed onto the bag. Through the creation of each bag, a story unfolds – a journey from market to masterpiece, transforming fabrics into a symbol of hope.

Haddy, Sara, Abdoul and Tijan
As New Life Bags quickly became a success, Haddy naturally assembled a team. Let's start with Sara, Haddy's partner in crime, inseparable in their journey. Sara also works at Babylon School in Lamin. Living with her aunt due to the unfortunate passing of her father and her mother's necessity to be in Senegal with her family, Sara finds renewed hope through her collaboration with her best friend.
Another friend of Haddy has joined the team as well. Abdoul, residing with family, also finds himself separated from his parents due to circumstances. With no current employment, working on the bags has come as a perfect gift for Abdoul!
Lastly, Tijan joined the team. Tijan is an extraordinary individual with a heart of gold. He founded his own business, specializing in clothing, and extended his generosity to the entire community. Not only did he teach children how to operate sewing machines and repair computers, but he also offered assistance with their math or English homework. Tijan dedicated all his time and attention to the children in the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, when the landlord demanded six months' rent upfront, Tijan faced a financial challenge he couldn't overcome. Consequently, he lost his workspace. Now, Tijan has found a new purpose by assisting Haddy in crafting these beautiful bags.
These four friends have come together not only to take care of themselves but also to provide for their loved ones...
